The beginning of October brings the first signs of fall, with crisp air and the yellow and red that begins to dot our landscapes is beautiful!

To get you started on the many events and festivals that are happening during October:

October 1: See the Salmon Run in the Blue Mountains - Hike along a forested creek loop trail to watch the salmon, and stop to speak with conservation experts about these Great Lakes giants and watch demonstrations

October 1: Fall Colours Train Trips in Uxbridge - What better way to enjoy the fall colours than from your seat on this 90-minute round trip along the Oak Ridges Moraine.

October 1: Holland Marsh Soupfest in Ansnorveldt - The festival features delicious piping hot soups, prepared by local restaurants and talented chefs, made with locally grown produce from the Holland Marsh.

October 1 and 2: Pumpkin Pie Trail in York Region - Celebrate all things pumpkin, featuring a wide variety of family-friendly demonstrations, activities and events that showcase pumpkins.

October 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29: Dufferin Town & Country Farm Tour in Dufferin County - The host farms include a working dairy farm, a Lincoln Red beef farm, a racing quarter horse farm, a crop input and grain elevator business, and more.

October 7 to 10: Erin Fair in Erin - From giant pumpkin weigh-off to farm animal competitions, there are plenty of agricultural related activities for the whole family.

October 7 to 10: Ball’s Falls Thanksgiving in Lincoln - Over 150 artisans, food vendors, demonstrators, and entertainers participating, there is always plenty to do, see, and explore at the conservation area.

October 8, 10 and 15: Round the Bend Farm Fall Festivals in Kettleby - Take part in wagon rides, play in the straw maze, trek through the corn maze and many more activities.

October 8 to 10: Apple Harvest Festival in the Blue Mountains - There’s no better way to enjoy Thanksgiving weekend and the fall colours than at Blue Mountain Village and Thornbury. Free family activities, live music, Apple Pie Trail, scavenger hunts, stilt walkers, hiking, biking & more!

October 15: Apple Festival & Craft Sale in Bowmanville - Four city blocks become a showcase for the many local apple growers who proudly offer up a wide variety of fresh picked apples and other goodies.

October 15: Fall Fest in Caledon - Come out and celebrate fall at this wonderful family event! Join us for some free refreshments, skating, crafts and games for all ages.

October 22: Harvest Celebration in Orangeville - Marking the closing of the Farmers’ Market and celebrating all things Autumn. Trick or Treating, crafts, face painting, great shopping and other festive activities. Fourth Saturday in October

October 29: Black Harvest Festival in Collingwood - Come downtown for Halloween themed activities and events. Our downtown merchants invite all the costumed children to come for some early trick or treating… look for the Orange ‘Witch’ signs on the door or window to find out who has treats inside!
