Entertaining friends and family over the holiday season can sometimes seem like a daunting task, but there are simple solutions that don’t break the bank and ensure your guests leave impressed. All you have to do is look to the Greenbelt to find some of the best cheese, wine, nuts and fruit available in the world. These highly complementary items can be served in many combinations. Cheese platters are a sure fire hit - simply slice up apple and pear, select a couple of Greenbelt cheeses, and serve with crackers alongside one of the Niagara Peninsula’s delicious wines. If you are feeling slightly more ambitious, try serving these ingredients in the form of pass around appetizers.
Step 1. Make the crostini.
Slice a fresh baguette into bite size portions and lightly brush with olive oil
Step 2. Toast baguette slices in the oven for 2 min at 350 degrees F.
Step 3. Once removed from the oven, place a thin slice of cheese and apple or pear on the crostini.
Step 4. Add garnish. These can be garnished with fresh chive or even a dollop of cranberry sauce to keep it festive. Relax and Enjoy!
