Attention Market Farmers: The Greenbelt Farmers’ Market Network (GBFMN) and FoodShare Toronto are excited to announce our newest cost-sharing initiative, the 2017 Partners in Production Program.
This project is made possible by financial support from the Province of Ontario in partnership with the Greenbelt Fund. The initiative will support 16-20 on-farm projects designed to bring new or improved products to GBFMN markets in the coming year. Program participants will be reimbursed for up to 50% of the equipment costs for their projects, from a minimum of $750 to a maximum of $2,250.
If you are a farmer who is a regular vendor at one or more Greenbelt Farmers’ Market Network markets, and you have ideas about how to develop or improve the products you grow, raise, or make, we’d like to hear from you.
GBFMN is looking for projects that will achieve one or more of the following objectives:
- improve the quality of products
- increase production efficiency
- extend seasonal availability
- broaden selection at markets
- scale up production of in-demand items
- address product shortages or gaps
