Sam Smith Park Farmers' Market

The Sam Smith Farmers' Market is a community run Saturday market in South Etobicoke. We offer fresh farm fare, prepared foods and crafts from local Ontario farmers and artisans with a focus on organic farming methods. Centrally located along the Lakeshore in Colonel Samuel Smith Park, the markets' home is an accessible, inclusive and dynamic space that features a variety of weekly programming to families and children - from artistic crafts and activities for children and adults, to workshops, bike tune-ups and nature walks & talks. The market also seeks to provide opportunities for showcasing local talent and artists and is devoted to developing partnerships with organizations and stakeholders that will support our pursuit to be an educational and engaging experience, all while eating great food! Our partners include the Friends of Sam Smith Park, Lakeshore Collegiate Institute, students from the Humber College School of Theatre and Performing Arts, DeGroot Design, More Than Pies and CanClone Services Inc.. Our pilot market will run from September to October in 2015 with the goal of being a seasonal market from May to October in 2016. Our ultimate goal is to have a year round market by 2018/2019, utilizing the indoor facilities of the Power House Recreation Centre.
