Sugarbush Festival in the Greenbelt

One of my favourite things to do in the Greenbelt during the winter months is get out to the Annual Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival with my family.  There is no better excuse to get out and enjoy the fresh air than a maple lollipop and a horse-drawn wagon ride.  The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority has been running this festival years, and it truly is fun for the whole family.

There are two locations - the Kortright Centre for Conservation in Woodbridge and at Bruce's Mill Conservation Area in Stouffville.  The admission fee at both locations includes the use of park facilities, hiking trails, horse-drawn wagon rides, sap samplings and maple syrup demonstrations.  The Kortright location also features Ontario's premier environmental and renewable energy education and demonstration centre.  While at Bruce’s Mill, there are authentic pioneer maple syrup and modern sugar shack demonstrations, with the additional perk of a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy. This family adventure is also extremely affordable – only $9 for adults, $6.50 for children 4 and up, and if you under 4, your free!

The festival runs from Saturday March 5th until April 10th so don’t miss your chance to enjoy an fantastic day outdoors!  For more information, go to www.maplesyrupfest.com
